Dr. Amar Dodda joined Texas Gastro Consultants as an advanced endoscopist in 2019. He was born and raised in Chicago and completed a 7-year guaranteed medical program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, earning his medical degree in 2012.

Dr. Dodda remained in the Midwest and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Afterwards, he choose to undergo an additional year of special training and completed an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship in both endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) at the University of California – Davis, graduating in 2019.

Dr. Dodda’s interests include: pancreatic cancer, biliary disease, radiofrequency ablation for Barretts esophagus, endoscopic mucosal resection of upper and lower GI lesions, endoluminal stenting, and fine needle aspiration of extra-intestinal lesions.

Dr. Dodda is dedicated to his patients and community. He prides himself on open communication and easy availability for his patients, while providing high quality care. He also works on staying up to date with current practices and incorporating the latest technology and techniques in the field of Gastroenterology.

Outside of work, Dr. Dodda loves vacationing and spending time with his wife. He also enjoys watching football, golfing and playing poker. He looks forward to meeting his new patients and becoming an integral part of their care.
